If you enjoy live theatre, you may recognise Jaz, but she is new to Churchdown Players. I asked her the same questions so we can get to know a bit more about her. We hope you enjoy this little insight and watch this space for further cast introductions.
When did you join Churchdown players?
I joined in January after auditioning for this show.
Have you been in any other drama groups?
I’ve acted and worked on production teams or the committee of a few drama groups in Cheltenham – Playhouse Company, Rococo Players and Promenade Productions, as well as Chedworth Players and Bonzo Productions, a little further afield. I like to see what shows are on and go for the ones that interest me.
Can you remember the first production you were in and who you played?
My first show was the Three Musketeers and I played Constance.
What has been your favourite character that you have played?
That’s hard to choose but I have a soft spot for musicals and I loved playing a Protean in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, by Sondheim.
Who do you play in the hound of the Baskervilles?
I play Kathy, who is called Beryl Stapleton in the original story.
Can you tell me a little about the character you play?
Kathy is an intelligent, vibrant and passionate young woman who has had some very bad luck in her life. She comes across better fortune here at Baskerville Hall, when she meets the handsome and rich new heir, Sir Henry, who falls in love with her. But she needs to keep her brother on board if she is going to get the life she desires.
Which would you rather be, a hero or a villain?
It’s always more fun to play a villain!
