Marilyn can be spotted on the stage, front of house, and is particularly regarded for putting together and directing some fabulous musical variety shows which always receive many compliments from our customers. Marilyn has also served on the committee and is currently our Treasurer.
How long have you been with The Curtain Callers (formerly Churchdown Players)?
About 35yrs
Have you been in any other drama groups?
The Cotswold Savoyards (chorus), The Cotswold Players in Stroud and The Reddings
Can you remember the first production you were in and who you played?
It was called 'Separate Tables' and I played a Cockney Waitress in a posh Hotel (but I can't remember the year). My first ever performance since playing Mary in a school Nativity was Fairy Godmother in Cinderella at the Reddings, which introduced me onto the stage about 40yrs ago!
What has been your favourite character that you have played?
I absolutely loved being the Fairy Godmother, but I enjoyed my experience with the Cotswold Savoyards as a Prostitute in 'The Beggars Opera'. Since joining the Curtain Callers, I have enjoyed playing various roles and also my debut as Producer and Director of a few Variety Shows.
Is there a specific production you would love to be in?
Not really.... I'll have a go at most things....
Who do you play in ‘Out of Focus’ and can you tell us a little about your character?
I play Kath, Bob's suspicious wife. She is somewhat disillusioned with her husband and this is often expressed by her sarcasm.
