Following the huge success of ‘Out of Focus’, we are following up with an even funnier play by the same writer, Peter Gordon. The cast for our next production ‘Murdered to Death’ has been selected by Director, Janet Clark and rehearsals are underway.

We are also excited to announce the addition of a Saturday matinee show for those who prefer not to go out at night. Make a note in your calendar. We will add further updates to let you know when booking is open.

This hilarious spoof of the best of Agatha Christie traditions is set in a country manor house in the 1930s, with an assembled cast of characters guaranteed to delight - Bunting the Butler; an English colonel with the prerequisite stiff upper lip; a shady French art dealer and his moll; the bumbling police inspector and a well-meaning local sleuth who seems to attract murder wherever she goes – they're all here, and all caught up in the sidesplitting antics which follow the mysterious death of the house's owner. It soon becomes clear that the murderer isn't finished yet, but will the murderer be unmasked before everyone else has met their doom, or will audiences die laughing first?

We are excited to announce we have chosen ‘Murdered to Death’ written by Peter Gordon and directed by Janet Clark for our next production Witcombe and Bentham Village Hall from 23rd to 26th October 2024.

It’s a comedy ‘Whodunnit’ set in the 1930s. There are 5 male and 5 female characters. Open Auditions will be held at Witcombe Village Hall on Thursday 18th April at 7.30pm.

Synopsis: The play introduces the inept and bungling Inspector Pratt, who battles against the odds and his own incompetence to solve the murder of the house’s owner. It soon becomes clear that the murderer isn’t finished yet; will the miscreant be unmasked before everyone else has met their doom or will the audience die laughing first?

This fourth script reading is for ‘A Thirst For Blood’ by Caroline Stanley. A comedy about life, love and happiness in the realms of the underworld.

Cast required: 11 Female, 6 Male

Synopsis: Dracula is about to turn 1,000 years old and he is disillusioned with modern life.

His Butler, Igor, comes up with a great idea to throw a birthday party for Halloween - to help Dracula gain back some notoriety, reinvigorate his prowess and feel ‘alive’ again!

However, as the party starts to get underway, there are many things Dracula is not impressed by…

The ‘fresh virgin blood’ is not really up to its previous standards and his friends are starting to settle down and move on with their lives - even Igor to his surprise!

Will Dracula fall in love? Will he resign himself to a life of loneliness?
What does the mysterious, gate-crashing Fortune Teller see in store for his future? Who knows?....

This third script reading is for ‘’Allo ‘Allo’, a comedy by Jeremy Lloyd and David Croft, based on the hugely successful British television series, which ran for seven seasons, this uproarious comedy relates the adventures of a hapless cafe owner, Rene, in occupied France.

Cast required: 5 Female, 10 Male

Synopsis: Based on the hugely successful British television series, which ran for seven seasons, this uproarious comedy relates the adventures of a hapless cafe owner, Rene, in occupied France. You can see all of your favorite TV characters in the flesh, including Rene's tone-deaf wife Edith, Major-General von Klinkerhoffen and the Gestapo officer Herr Flick!

He and his wife have stashed a priceless portrait stolen by the Nazis in a sausage in their cellar, where two British airmen are also hiding until the Resistance can repatriate them. Communications with London using the wireless that is disguised as a cockatoo add to the many embarrassments this intrepid proprietor endures in the company of his patrons. News that the Führer is scheduled to visit the town inspires tricksters disguised as Hitler to frequent the cafe. Meanwhile, Rene summons all the wit he can muster to save his café and his life.
